Teresa Kranawetter(no pronouns/she), also called Resi, is a Vienna-based visual artist, focusing on figurative painting, illustration and sculpting.

Their current artistic practice explores hybridity, monstrosity, and queering customs through collective forms across different mediums. Drawing inspiration from local customs from their hometown alongside monster depictions from popular culture they try to find new visual and narrative forms. In doing this, Teresa tries to connect and combine their theoretical work with their artistic practice.

Teresa holds an MA in art history from the University of Vienna. Their research examined Allison Mitchell’s installation ‚Ladies Sasquatch‘ as a starting point for a theoretical discussion on monstrosity, queer mythology, hybridity and the discursive production of monsters. In their *wage work* Teresa serves as academic-adminstrative coordinator of ICGP-International Research Center Gender and Performativity at the mdw. Their previous positions include working as a curatorial assistant for the European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl – Salzkammergut 2024 and working as an event and exhibition manager at Qwien – Queer Center for History and Culture.

When not being serious, Teresa also likes to do meaningless, playful Illustrations, Scribbles, Zines – its mainly about making stuff, collaborating and finding joy.
